Setting Up SSL In Outlook
This tutorial will instruct you on how to configure Outlook to use an SSL certificate. You can set this for both incoming (POP) and outgoing (SMTP) mail servers.
Open Outlook. Select the Tools menu, and then Email Accounts.
Select the option to View or Change Existing accounts.
Select the email account you want to configure to use SSL, then click Change.
Change the Incoming and Outgoing mail server to mail.sitevision.com. This will allow the mail program to connect using Sitevision, Inc.’s SSL certificate. Also, select Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SLA) in the bottom left corner.
Next, click the More Settings button. Select the Advanced tab. Check the boxes under the Incoming (POP) and Outgoing (SMTP) ports. The port number for the Incoming server should change to 995. The Outgoing port will stay at 25. If you wish to change this you can use port 465.
Click OK to save the changes.
